Cadmium Import

The following document describes the steps required to import Cadmium programs into WordPress.

Overview of the Process​

  • Export from Cadmium
  • Review & Cleanup Data in Excel
  • Import into WordPress
  • Review each program and import one-by-one

Important Notes​

  • Edits are saved as you go along, but it's best to import a program after you have made edits
  • To return to a previous import, select the date & time from the dropdown menu then click "Load Selected"
  • One approach is to simply get the programs loaded and make edits later, in WordPress

Steps​

Export from Cadmium​

  • Login to Cadmium ( https://www.mycadmium.com/login.asp )
  • Open 2017 > 2017-2018 Accreditation Process (Click Scorecard, then Launch)
  • Select Worksheets
  • Select Submissions
  • Click the Worksheet "Accreditation - Generate WordPress Import File"
  • Click "Run Worksheet"
  • Once loaded, click "Export to Excel"

Quick Review & Cleanup Data in Excel​

Suggestions for Excel Quick Review:

  • Sort by Approval_Date: Delete rows with no approval
  • Sort by Website: Cleanup as per agreements
  • Sort by Title: Delete rows with "Cancelled" in name
  • Save this excel worksheet

Import Excel File into WordPress​

  • Open Wordpress Dashboard ( https://www.cpd.utoronto.ca/wp-admin/ )
  • Go to the Import Tool: Dashboard > Programs > Cadmium Import Tool
  • Drag the Excel document onto the "Import Area"
  • Wait a few seconds while WordPress analyses the data
  • Adjust the "Approved From" dates to filter the list to only show records since your last import

Import Program(s)​

Notes:​

  • If there is an ! icon, click it to see the potential errors / issues
  • Duplicate programs (matched on Course Code) have a red banner

Suggested Process:​

  • Adjust registration dates as-needed
  • Confirm Website(s)
  • Add registration website, if known
  • Confirm Description
  • Review & Add Keywords (unmatched)
  • Click Import
  • Repeat process for other programs to be imported

Review in WordPress (as needed)​

Using the "Edit in WordPress" button you can open the Program inside the WordPress editor. Here you can customise additional content and confirm content that has been imported.
